| George Lewis moved to Richmond County, Georgia as a very young man and enlisted in the Revolutionary War in that county in 1779. He is claimed to have lived in Burke County, Georgia in 1783. In 1818, he moved his family to Tattnall County, Georgia and remained until his death in 1844. There is recent evidence that this George Lewis's father was James Lewis, but the Author has not been able to determine which James Lewis this could be, perhaps a brother of Samuel, Josiah, and William - one not known to anyone yet. | ||||
